Islam in Turkey

Turkey is the often considered to be the most westernized and modern country in the Islamic world. Religious observance in comparison to other predominantly Muslim populated countries, is low and Muslim identity tends to be based more on tradition and cultural heritage rather than actual belief in religious dogma.
